As Paul already posted, desktop-base 7.0 was uploaded to Debian unstable.
I worked on the KDE related integration of Adrien Aubourg’s Joy Wallpapers (Congratulations again).
I am pretty happy with how well they work with KDE, hence I am sharing the result.
This is what KDE’s login manager kdm will look like in debian wheezy:

As you can see, the chooser got a whole rework. It’s now based on the kdm theme I prepared for my Roj proposal.
The new ksplash theme then includes the Debian logo:

For your workspace wallpaper there also exisits the ink splatted alternative:

I am pretty happy with the artwork. I like it’s minimalism and it’s not getting boring after using it for a while.
Thanks for your time to make this happen

That’s a nice work !
Thanks for your great contributions.
Well done, really. Outstanding work.
very nice.
really good looking artwork. i’m pleasantly surprised – as much as i love debian, artwork has not been one of its strengths.
however, i wish the plasma (desktop) theme would be reconsidered. as it is, label text in task manager is barely readable.
@istok: Given the oxygen tream puts a lot of work into the default theme, we don’t think it’s a good idea modifying or switching from the default.
It is very hard to create a proper plasma theme and users will most likely experience glitches, like missing/not-well-integrated icons, if we do.
We might tweak the colors, though.
+1 for the ink splattered alternative

Very nice work, congratulations.
@Eshat
you have a point about the quality of the default. also tweaking just the colors a little would be excellent – and not too hard to do. overall, great job.

Hi, I like the colors. However I think that font color in kdm should be a little bit darker. Also, the plain logo looks too simple in my opinion. Why not make the ink splatted logo (which ls actually very cool) the default for kdm ,splash, plymouth and wallpaper?
Also, in splash screen the icons should appear over some background (made in plasma theme) just like in previous versions. But the background rectangle could be thiner this time (wide but not high).
You never mentioned what version of KDE this is. Why?
@mikep: It’s KDE SC 4.8.4.

Hi all, great theme!
I have some little trouble to install it after a clean-install, how’s the package named?
I installed kde in a second time (no gui at first install)
@Daniele: Install desktop-base
I am a Debian+Openbox fanatic and well known kde-hater, but this looks slick.
So much so that i’m first going to test-run a whezzy-kde in Vbox, and if all goes well, later install to garddrive.
Great work Kde fellas!
It looks great, I’m wishing to receive my SSD disk to install and enjoy Wheezy-KDE in my laptop.
Where i can download the splash screen theme “ksplash_joy”?
I used to have it ,but when i reinstall to a fresh system i can’t find it anymore nowhere…
If you know from where i can download it ,please,please,please tell me.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards.
