After successfully participating in the KDE Wallpaper contest, and being a bit disappointed of the artwork in Debian squeeze , I decided to create a proposal for the next Debian release.
I know that there have been a lot of work been put into SpaceFun, the last elected artwork, but I minded installing the desktop-base package, since I am a fan of clean, modern and simple designs.
The theme I created (actually just a wallpaper yet), is called “Roj”, which is kurdish and means “light”,”daylight” or “sun”.

If you want to see other proposals, you can find a list here and since there is other good work already, I won’t be disappointed, if Roj is not elected.

It’s beautiful!
I like the motif, but the color scheme seems too reminiscent of SuSE.
I find you a bit condescending.
And Debian comes with GNOME by default, so please provide GTK3, GTK2, GDM and LightDM themes and screenshot.
And 4:3 wallpaper.
Nice. as you do I think squeeze artwork could be better but I understand the idea (related to character).
I think it could be used the red bow (wheezy’s) in a elegant and beautiful way.
I wish I had the design skills but I can imagine for example a spinning red bow for a plymouth animation, leading to a gdm in light colors with the red bow in place.

@nanonymouse: I didn’t intent to be condescending. Obviously artwork is something very subjective. About the gnome/xfce/gdm themes please check the wikipage, I said that I intent to put more work in this, if the theme gets elected. You will also find information to your 4:3 resolution request.
@feco: I think the squeeze artwork contest was not very well announced. Fortunately this seems to be much better for the wheezy artwork, as you can see by the many contributions we have already on the wiki: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianArt/Themes
