I am going to switch to English, since this post might be related to KDE users all over the world.
It’s been a loooong time, since my last blog post, actually over 18 months, sorry for that.
However, I am happy to announce, that a wallpaper proposal I made for the KDE 4.8 plasma default competition has been accepted. So you might see it in the next point release of KDE, or download it here.
I am aware, that it’s a very simple and not even really special wallpaper, however it was my intention to create something minimal, something that does not distract the user. This applies to KDE even more, since many users are using widgets.
My initial proposal was even more plain:

If you like this version, it is also available here.
I also know that there might be many people not liking it but luckily are free to change the default, which only very very few people will stick to.
Congrats!

congratulations fr having your wallpaper accepted, i installed 4.8 yesterday and noticed the new wallpaper, and new name

while minimalistic certainly is pretty, i find it becomes a bit boring after a while. sorry, but i actually preferred any of the wallpapers with curls in them
anyway, congratz again, and hope to see more from you in KDE.
Really don’t like.
So much I spent the evening finding out how kde default splash and wallpaper are set to replace your’s systemwide.
I liked the wallpaper so much that I’m wondering if colour variations are available
Have you already realized some of them?
